APV (Avian Polyomavirus): highly contagious disease, kills primarily young birds between 2-8 weeks old. Older birds may die of other related infections from other pathogens.

PBFD (Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease): the most commonly recognized viral disease of psittacine birds due to the irreversible loss of feathers and beak deformities. Birds may die from other related pathogens.

PSITTACOSIS (Chlamydia psittaci): the major concern about this disease is that sick birds can transmit the bacteria to humans. It mainly affects the respiratory tract and eventually spreads to the whole system.

PDV (Phocine Distemper Virus, Pacheco’s disease): highly transmissible in an aviary, Pacheco’s is often fatal and may affect virtually all psittacines of all ages. Symptoms include lethargy, tremors, and diarrhea. Pacheco’s may be triggered after relocation and/or loss of the mate.
